Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include headache, dizziness, vomiting, loss of balance, tingling in face, cracked or swollen lips, etc.

Do not take two doses at a time. Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at designated time

Take this with a full glass of water. Do not chew or suck on the capsule. Swallow it as a whole.

Never use isotretinoin if:

• You are pregnant or planning to conceive as it can serious birth defects.

Common side effects include:

• Cold, flu and headaches
• Dryness on skin

Serious side effects may occur such as

• Problems with hearing (sometimes ringing) and vision
• severe GI disturbances
• joint pain
• frequent urination
• depression

Precautions and warnings may include:

• Do not donate blood while taking this or for at least 30 days after you stop taking it.
• Do not get any laser or skin treatment done while taking it.

Consult a doctor before taking isotretinoin formulations if you are using any of these:

• Phenytoin
• Birth-control pills
• NSAIDs
• Steroids
• Multivitamins
• Doxycycline

The food interactions that should be considered while using isotretinoin are:

• Avoid alcohol as it can increase the risk of liver toxicity.
• Taking isotretinoin with a high-fat meal can improve absorption.
