Cosalic Lotion is a medicated topical solution formulated to address various skin and scalp conditions, including psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and dandruff. It combines three active ingredients: Coal Tar, Hydrocortisone, and Salicylic Acid, each contributing to its therapeutic effects.

Composition:

• Coal Tar Solution (USP): 30 mg/ml
• Hydrocortisone (BP): 10 mg/ml
• Salicylic Acid (BP): 30 mg/ml

Indications:

Cosalic Lotion is indicated for the treatment of:

• Psoriasis
• Seborrheic dermatitis
• Dandruff

Dosage and Application:

Apply a thin layer of Cosalic Lotion to the affected areas once or twice daily, depending on the severity of the condition. For scalp applications, massage the lotion thoroughly into the hair roots to ensure effective absorption.

Contraindications:

Do not use Cosalic Lotion if you have:

• Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients (hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, coal tar, or other corticosteroids)
• Photosensitivity conditions, such as lupus erythematosus, or an allergy to sunlight

Precautions:

• Discontinue use if you experience irritation, sensitivity, excessive dryness, or any adverse reactions.
• Exercise caution during prolonged use, application over extensive body areas, use with occlusive dressings, or when treating children, due to potential systemic effects of corticosteroids.
• Avoid excessive exposure to UV light or sunlight for 24 hours after application, as Coal Tar can increase photosensitivity.
